We are two friends who met in 2019, realizing that we had a lot in common – mainly our love (obsession) with all things beauty. It doesn’t stop there, though. We love fashion, finding a good deal, and home décor. We love traveling with our significant others and dreaming of one day taking a trip together for a free-for-all shopping spree! We wanted to start a blog together to keep our mutual interests going when Amber moved back to Nashville, leaving Andrea some 500 miles behind in Ohio. We hope to discuss here our interests – the things we obsess about together. We hope you like hanging out with us, too, and feel free to join in our conversations!
Now, we will introduce ourselves individually so you can get a peek at who the Obsessionistas really are!
Hi ya’ll! My name is Amber, and I’m 39 years old. I am obsessed with all things beauty. When I was in high school, I started getting into high-end makeup. I would use my birthday money or whatever I had saved up from chores to fund my new obsession. Whenever there was a free gift with purchase, I would go to my local Dillards and buy either a Lancôme or Estee Lauder product to get the free bag and deluxe sample size products. It worked well for me at the time because I didn’t have a lot of money to spend on makeup, so I was able to sample products I otherwise couldn’t afford. Who am I kidding? I still do this! I love receiving samples and trying out products to this day.
Hi, I am Andrea (pronounced On-dree-uh). I am 46 and mom to a Maine Coon and a Scottie. When I was little, I used to marvel at my mom’s shoebox full of makeup and how she’d line her entire eye with a Lancome Le Crayon Kohl. In my 20s, I used to buy makeup, take it home, and look at it. I had no idea how to apply a smoky eye, but I had to have the elements for one. By my 30s, I had figured it out, and I found myself working for a cosmetics retailer where I learned how to work on all colors, ages, and skin types. Many years of retail, salon, and wedding work later, I am still looking at ALL the makeup. I have to have that beautiful eyeshadow palette or that glassy-looking highlighter. Only, things aren’t looking so great on me these days, with almost 46-year-old skin. I will tell anyone who asks about the many devices, peels, and injections I have used over the years. As a matter of fact, I am about due for some Botox right now!
